Boxes are so confining and I’ve often felt that there’s not one in which I’ve felt that I fit. Through discussions with friends, I’ve realized I am not alone and it was through those conversations that Kulturschöpfer was founded. It is a place that desires not to put people into boxes but instead allows others to explore and grow. With a degree in Psychology and Communications, I have experienced working in the art, business, and social sectors. Being someone with many different interests in various areas of culture, I would describe myself as a cultural curator. In other words, as someone who has a passion to see all of culture holistically in all of its diversity by engaging, creating, and inspiring one another in community towards positive change..

STEPHANIE

I’m one of the founding members of Kulturschöpfer and serve on the board of directors. My career started off as a financial planner in Ohio, USA and after a move to Berlin plus maternity leave with three wonderful children, I switched my career focus to NGO financial management. Other than being responsible for the finances, my role at Kulturschöpfer is to pay attention to the details and to sometimes bring a boring reality check to the creative ideas that fly around here in our planning meetings.

VALENTINA

I am Valentina, from Sardinia, Italy, an islander in the heart. Trained as Architect and heritage specialist, with a lot of passions and hobbies, I have always been looking for an environment in which I can experience new things, learn and engage with inspiring people. This is what brought me to Kuturschöpfer in August 2020 to participate in the Training Program. Since then, I have been taking care of Events & Courses, edited the Newsletter and be an active team member of the Green Hill Gallery, supporting the activities of the exhibition "Action on Hold" and co-curating the exhibition "Slipt Open"! In May 2021, I have also started assisitng in the administration of the co-working space.

Jan

Hey! My name is Jan and I come from Spain. I moved from Madrid to Berlin back in 2018 to study Art History and Spanish Philology. I immediately fell in love with the city and its way of living. Having been raised in a half-spanish and half-german family, I have always been in contact with these two different cultures; this shaped my general interest in the exchange with people who have different backgrounds and histories than me. As Kulturschöpfer offers the possibility of doing this in an open and multicultural community, while focusing on areas I am really interested in regarding my future, like art, communication and other social and cultural activities, I see the Training Program as a great opportunity to expand my horizon both on a professional and on a personal level. I really share the values of Kulturschöpfer and see them as the way to go to learn and to get inspired, so it is just great that this place offers so much at once!
